Biography

Tony Soprano may be a neurotic, murdering bastard, but he sure has great taste in imaginary friends. Maria Grazia Cucinotta became a fantasy object for lots of guys in 1999 as The Sopranos’s mysterious Isabella, soon revealed to be a mere hallucination brought on by Tony’s medication. Back in Italy, Maria’s countrymen have been having their own fantasies about this dark beauty for several years. Maria’s become a regular in our minds too, starring in the Academy Award-winning Il Postino (1994) and playing a sexy cigar girl in the James Bond action flick The World is Not Enough (1999). But let’s get back to her roots — born in Sicily, Maria made a name for herself in entertainment by working as an actress, a producer, a director, and a model. Her earliest onscreen credits were in works such as Indietro tutta! (1987), Vacanze di Natale ’90 (1990), Viaggio d’amore (1990), Andy e Norman (1991), and Il coraggio di Anna (1992). In 2000, Maria gave us a little bit of sexiness in the comedy Picking Up the Pieces. She wears some incredibly low V-necks and shows her cleavage while she’s in bed with a lucky guy.
